TAE40110 - correspondence / self-paced delivery
The AIWD's primary mode of delivery of the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to individual participants (i.e. those participants who are not training in a face-to-face course alongside colleagues within an organisational group) is via correspondence / self-paced delivery.
It is important to note: Participants who successfully complete all components of the AIWD TAE40110 Correspondence Course will receive a nationally recognised TAE40110 Qualification from the AIWD, which has exactly the same value as a TAE40110 qualification gained with the AIWD, a TAFE Institute or any other Private RTO via face-to-face delivery.
At ONLY $1,050, there are many benefits involved in completing a TAE40110 Training and Assessment course via the AIWD's fully supported correspondence / self-paced training program.
benefits of correspondence / self-paced training
- There is no face-to-face component associated with this version of our TAE40110 Course, so participants are not required to come on-site to the AIWD at any stage – 100% of the course may be completed in their own time and in their own environment.
- The AIWD's TAE40110 Correspondence training program is fully supported - refer to the Participant Support Services offered by the AIWD in the following section.
- Participants are given the opportunity to learn in their own time - often work, family or other personal obligations make it impossible to commit to the 10 days (minimum) it generally takes to complete the full TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment in a face-to-face classroom environment. Correspondence / self-paced training allows participants the flexibility to set their own training schedule - a schedule that is perfectly suited and moulded to each participant's individual circumstances and their work / family / personal commitments.
- AIWD self-paced Training and Assessment participants may choose to learn in whatever environment they feel most comfortable - saving valuable hours (and dollars) by not having to travel to and from a classroom-based training venue. In a world where there are "not enough hours in the day", having the flexibility to learn whenever you want and where ever you want is priceless!!
- Our Lead Trainer, Mike McLaughlin, has years of experience in delivering TAE40110 / TAA40104 Training and Assessment courses to thousands of participants. Mike uses the knowledge and experience he has gained from these courses to develop participant resources that are user-friendly and practically based. AIWD TAE40110 resources contain content, activities and assessments that have been tested and adapted over many years to ensure they are easy to understand and easy to complete.
participant support services
The AIWD's correspondence / self-paced training experience does not involve our participants being left to "fend for themselves" after enrolment ... on the contrary!
- AIWD correspondence participants have direct access to the AIWD's Lead Trainer (via email or phone) to assist them with any queries they may have whilst completing their self-paced work.
- In addition to the tuition support provided during the completion of their TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, AIWD correspondence / self-paced participants have on-going access to the AIWD's Participant Support Officer before, during and after their training experience.
- After enrolment, our self-paced participants are contacted at least monthly to ascertain progress, determine any need for specific support services and to ensure motivational levels for course completion are maintained.
- AIWD Training and Assessment participants have access to guidance and counselling with regard to academic progress, including further study and/or career pathways.
- Individualised language, literacy and numeracy assessment and support services are provided to AIWD participants, as required.

assessment tasks
There is no face-to-face component associated with this correspondence / self-paced version of our TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment course, so you would not be required to come on-site to the AIWD at any stage – 100% of the course may be completed in your own time and in your own environment.
In order to gain competence in this course, participants will be required to work their way through the learning activities and assessment tasks contained within each of the 3 x AIWD TAE40110 Learner Guides, i.e. Cluster 1: Training Program Design; Cluster 2: Assessor Training; and Cluster 3: Training Delivery & Facilitation. Assessment tasks are mostly theory based (i.e. answering questions; developing assessment tools; developing training session plans; etc), however there are also some practical requirements (i.e. jumping onto the NTIS website to look up Training Packages; conducting practical assessments; delivering training sessions, etc).
During the course of their training program, participants will be required to take some video footage for assessment purposes and send this into the AIWD for assessment, along with all other evidence requirements. This video footage is classified as “direct evidence” and is the only way we are able to meet minimum evidence requirements for the 2 tasks this relates to, given there is no face-to-face component. Participants with any queries regarding assessment / evidence requirements should not hesitate to contact our Lead Trainer, Mike McLaughlin, to discuss this further – his contact details are on the contact us page of this website.
