How long do I have to complete the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment via correspondence / self-paced training?
- In terms of timeframe for course completion, although there is no set timeframe for participants to have their course completed (this is one of the many benefits of the AIWD’s self-paced training program!), we find most part-time participants are able to complete the full TAA40104 in 6 months or less (depending on other commitments such as work, family, etc), however this timeframe varies greatly.
- For instance, participants who are able to sit down and work on the course on a full time basis, should be able to get it completed in about 10 days (i.e. 10 x 8hr days = 80hrs).
- We understand that everyone has different commitments (work, family and personal), so we negotiate course completion with each participant as they progress through their TAA40104 training - Timeframe for course completion is certainly something that depends greatly on individual circumstances.
- Regardless of the negotiated course duration, the AIWD keeps very close tabs on each of our self-paced TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment participants (by way of individualised contact at least monthly) in order to check on how each participant is progressing through their TAA40104 training and to ensure motivation levels for the completion of the TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment remains high. Where necessary, we work with individual participants to set targets for the completion of specified assessment tasks.
How will I be assessed in the AIWD's TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Correspondence / Self-Paced Training Program?
- There is no face-to-face component associated with this correspondence / self-paced version of our TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment course, so you would not be required to come on-site to the AIWD at any stage – 100% of the course may be completed in your own time and in your own environment.
- In order to gain competence in this course, you will be required to work your way through the learning activities and assessment tasks contained within each of the 4 x AIWD TAA40104 Learner Guides, i.e. Cluster A: Assessment; Cluster B: Training Delivery; Cluster C: Training Program Design; and Cluster D: Training Environment. Assessment tasks are mostly theory based (i.e. answering questions; developing assessment tools; developing training session plans; etc), however there are also some practical requirements (i.e. jumping onto the NTIS website to look up Training Packages; conducting practical assessments; delivering training sessions, etc).
- In Cluster B: Training Delivery, participants are required to record their delivery of 2 x training sessions and send these into the AIWD for assessment, along with all other evidence requirements. This video footage is classified as “direct evidence” and is the only way we are able to meet minimum evidence requirements for this element of the course, given that there is no face-to-face component. If you have any further queries regarding assessment / evidence requirements, please don’t hesitate to contact our Lead Trainer, Mike McLaughlin to discuss this further – his contact details are on the contact us page of this website.
